Measuring our Differences

Whats the power in difference?  We are all born different and to the universe we bring forward what is positive and that is supposed to be awesome in itself.  As we move through our lives we encounter alot of people or situations which present themselves in different ways. Now we are not always right or always wrong but we must continue to appreciate others for there ideas, thinking and logical trains before we go jumping the gun.  Every encounter gives us a new way or perspective on this great life.

Illusive power is not in money and things, It is gained through our unique ability to unify and as we are already unified through our breath why not accept our differences as opposed to denying our differences-Iyanla Vanzant.

Today i will honour and respect the value of differences.

In Giselle's Words- value of the second effort!

What is the value of a second effort?

I have always tried to follow my intuition. Today is difficult because I'm being asked to put myself 'out there' – to expose myself to John and Jane public. In a recent interview – Natalie Cole talks about her life and why God puts her in certain situations that are incomprehensible to her. Like the time she was with her dear sister Cookie, who was in a coma and she received a call that they had got a kidney for her. She dismissed the doctors and returned to her sister's side. But the doctor's called again and insisted. She had to leave right away. Her sister passed while she was having surgery. She concludes that perhaps God just wants her to be the one to tell the story – to talk about faith, and trust and hope.
And that's where I find myself – sharing something I wrote on the first of September 2007. I am not sure why but perhaps someone out there needs to see this raw side of life that sometimes leaves you feeling like 'what's the point?' – But perhaps there is a point! So here's a slice of my life four years ago:
What is the value of a second effort? I asked myself this question only because I am on that upward climb to fifty and sisters Oprah and Maya said that fifties are the new forties – well I wondered if I had in fact done all that I could and made my mark yet?

Then came a short quote by Vince Lombardi who is credited with the birth of the "second effort" and I thought – Hmmm now what would happen if I gave my life a second effort? How would my life look? Here I was, basically unemployed or is that self employed for the last ten plus years approaching the month's end with the anticipation of a whale about to be harpooned – but seriously. Here I was, just last night deciding that I was going to start publishing newsletters for a living. That what I really wanted to do was write – and write well, mind you. And I knew that I didn't want to be in any stuffy meetings and speak in the way corporate types expect you to, and I only wanted to help people who really wanted to be helped and not those that engaged you only for a sparring competition as to who knew more. God, I thought this is all possible! Would you give me another chance? Do I get to go at this life again with whatever is left in me?

And then I remembered the projects I had outstanding – and quite frankly, got depressed and wondered how the "F" did I get here? When the little voice deep inside mentioned – the money – and of course we all remember why we say yes to things because in the backdrop of our mind, seldom on wings, are the numerous bills waiting to be paid. More like heavy fridge magnets difficult to remove.
So it means that I must first tend to the backlog before I can begin my new adventure. Mind you, as a little aside and a chuckle for you, I declared today a day of no interruptions – so I switched off my cellphone but could no longer be kept in suspense…decided to switch them (oh yes I have two) back on only to be further depressed as there were NO missed calls or messages – WOW! "I must be really not be that important" my mind goes. So now I am in a good funk! Did I mention that it is now 11 o'clock and I am yet to have my shower? I didn't think so!

Anyway I find my way upstairs to find inspiration from one of my many books. And my hands reach out for the tiny purple package that Og Mandino has so accurately titled "The Choice". Life is about choices isn't it? Oh I am getting ahead of myself. Before I started my upstairs journey I was going to journal about something that I found interesting within the pages of sister Iyanla's Until Today. She was quoting a book Love Without Conditions by Paul Ferrini who wrote " If you do not take responsibility for bringing love to your own wounds, you will not move out of the vicious cycle of self attack, self defense, self imposed guilt and self imposed blame." In other words do your very best to see the right beneath your wrong. I then thought that I would go to the empty page and draw this out in a circle. But I skipped that and went upstairs.

So now it's Og and me and I turn to the very end of the book and come across a speech by the main character of the book titled "the key to a better life". Did God abandon us somewhere along the way? I myself am asking this question and then he asks the following:
Are you in control of yourself? To which I reply "nope"
Are you at peace with yourself and those around you? "Nope" I say, a little put out.
Are you proud of your life's accomplishments? "Hell NO!"
Are you and your family enjoying the fruits of your work? "Hey I can hardly enjoy the fruits produced from the tree that seems to be dying far less for my family!"
Are you happy and contented? "Hey buddy have you been following me here?"
He then gives a couple of paragraphs at the end all starting with "I choose a better way to live!" And so I have given myself the gift of a second effort today. Today I choose a better way to live. I am damn fed up of the life I've been living so far. Yes guys the damn nail has finally got to me and I am getting up!
So while Al Jarreau sings to me that I should tell "uncle misery goodbye"…I think how appropriate. Because what I did as well was record the "I choose" paragraphs so that I could play it first thing every day from my brand new MP4 player. Hey, don't hate the player…this black woman is moving on up! Now go find your own epiphany…I'm rooting for ya!

Today of course I am living a much different life. My life's purpose is to give the gift of possibility and inspire change – my own life perhaps an example of the possibility to change regardless of how disorganised and out of focus things could seem in the moment. Brene Brown articulates precisely how I feel today in her book The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are — "As it turned out, the work I had to do was messy and MP4 player deep. I slogged through it until one day, exhausted and with mud still wet and dripping off of my travelling shoes, I realised: "Oh my God. I feel different. I feel joyful and real. I'm still afraid, but I also feel really brave. Something has changed — I can feel it in my bones." And that is my wish for you too – have courage and give your life a second effort. You're worth it!

I know that I know i am knowing

Life is funny! Many of us can testify to this statement as we all know that the disappointments are appointments for alot of bigger things.  Enlightened living calls for our baggage centre to be light and when i say light I mean our ability to cultivate healthy plants and maintain healthy fields.

What is the difference between our soul and our minds? Our soul is that part of us that is light, full of peace and love our minds are the matter that allows our continuous thought processes and it is also responsible for the illusions that hide our soul.  So how do we make for a good soul?  We do some deep drilling and get rid of our mediocre soil and poor drainage.  LOL I know the flow of words are confusing.

If your mind's soil is healthy what kind of ideas do you think a healthy mind will generate?  What will the end product be like? If the mind has mediocre or poor soil what do we reap after we sew good seeds?  In the two extremities we will still like to hope that what ever possibilities are planted they are watered, cultivated and re deposited somewhere after its use.

Each of us is born and programmed with what we need to know unfortunately we don't believe that.  We don't trust ourselves enough to seek truth.  We all have the power to do whats right within and prepare our soil for blossoming.  Blessed Love

The Only way to be yourself is to know yourself.

I have a very bad habit of reading articles after the fact.  I am not  sure if I do not grasp the message as soon as it is published or it does not quite sink in until long after (the message behind the words).  Anyway in the June 5 Womens'Mag- Giselle P Hudson speaks about learnin about yourself, embracing your self and loving your self all in one breath.

She speaks about some people walking around in a daze not really conceptualizing what is happening with them.  To the average person we all do this at some point however it is important to note that we should not and must not isolate yourself from blissful experiences.

So Giselle offers this challenge for the next 30 days promise yourself one thing to do everyday and after the 30 days what are the feelings upon completion?  Where are we on the 30th day and what have you really done with this precious 30 days.

Motivation Speaks

Someone asked me yesterday what do you do to stay upbeat and motivated all the time?

My answer:  I am not motivated all the time I am human so I do have my off days but what i do is align myself with positive things, ideas and people.  It starts at your home base: Will you be in a relationship that has you demotivated, down, judging yourself and unhappy?  For me that's a big fat No because I need to be happy myself before I can be happy with someone else.  We are by definition what we attract. I always tell people I am not morning folk but I like the wee hours so I can think and process ideas and make plans for the new day.  At times I succeed other times I am steered in a different direction. Come what may the aim is to fulfill your divine purpose.

So Motivation whats the big deal with it?  If you are motivated your work turns into a nice place for you because you are super eager to get there. People are eager to see you and you place high emphasis on needs and people. If you are motivated your personal relationships are healthy you attract healthy humans and your universe is ok. Its better than ok Its fabulous.

For one day try not to complain but compliment.  Try a nice song in the morning have a great breakfast or check out a yoga class, eat some ice cream, take a walk, ride a bus but find something that excites you...
We don't really need the books to live our lives but we use the teachings we learn and read and simply apply to our situations.  It is substantial to note that change does not come from another man's idea it starts with our own thinking of ourselves and our compassion for others.  Have a great holiday folks! Blessed Love

Dont Give up!

Quotes:

"Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail
at it. Try again. Do better the second time.
The only people who never tumble are those who
never mount the high wire."

2. "The big secret in life is that there is no big
secret. Whatever your goal, you can get there if
you're willing to work."

3."Energy is the essence of life. Every day you
decide how you're going to use it by knowing what
you want and what it takes to reach that goal, and
by maintaining focus."

Lovely

Optimisim

Its about finding good in everything and everyone.  perfect example i got up this morning updated my groups and was in transit.  I am in awe at how early i am despite having a toddler (yay) anyway i had a plan for this morning.  i was gonna get to the office early make my tea and sit and start my work plan.  that all changed after I dropped z off.  it started raining, i got a taxi relatively fast and a lady jumped in wetting me of course, did not say sorry nor did she say Good morning... Now on instinct i got mad..dam mad because she wet me and had the gall to watch me "cut eye" but i fix that in a diplomatic way.

Any way i get to the office and there is a film crew.... ? No one called me letting me know what was gonna take place today and I had to deal with that so eargo my cup of tea.  LOL.  Now the purpose of the optimistic man is to find the good in everything.  there is a silver lining at the end of every storm cloud and in retrospect the optimistic man  surrounds himself with positive things and mind joggers to fill his day with harmonious intervention from the Universe.  Whew! Plenty huh?

Not really a mind is a terrible thing to waste and a healthy mind at that  and a healthy attitude  forgoes anxiousness, depression and dis content. Think about Robinson Crusoe he had all the bad going against him but he was adamant on staying alive and that stems from a positive mind.  So people we may face all types of situations butr come what may by keeping your attention positive we grow spiritually  and emotionally Blessed Love.

What's Up

Today is  a new day..Do you smell it? great and amazing possibilities ahead of us.  Today i am willing to forgive myself for always wanting to be right.  Right in the argument, right in my words, right in my justifications.  i am willing today to have someone else have the last say.  The need for us to be right is nothing more than the need for our own external validations.  the conflicts created from wanting to always be right  with another be right person is a great blessing in disguise, The one who backs down first is usually the one who  has really gained everything and is on their way to self forgiveness, self acceptance and self love.  Isnt that amazing? :) It is indeed.

The Air con in my unit is not working but guess what I have my music and my cup of tea.   So as we go today guys remember: Be devoted to healing your need to be right.  Blessed Love

Grace, Hope and Mercy

Grace can catch you before you fall and pick you up if you do.  Grace is so powerful and sufficient that even though you dont know what to do she acts as your insurance that whatever you do will be better than what you did! She closes your eyes to things that only you can see.  She closes your ears to what the haters are saying and allows your heart to open to what god has in store for you> Grace knows there are some things that are only meant for you and her sisters are never far Hope and Mercy.

They act as intermediaries to do what you cannot do for yourself and do not know what to do.  The will go where you are afraid to go but all act in your divine favor.  You will eventually see that you do not have to approach everything on your own.  So the bottom line here is accepting that all great things can be done through christ and him alone.

To all my men on this blog have an amazing Fathers Day! The world needs you immensely you are our buckets and without you we fail to function. have an awesome day :)
